When you save something else to the drive, it takes up the space where the other picture was. Now the old picture is gone, or at least as much of its space as the new one took up.
Programs that retrieve these can look at files without needing the paths that the computer uses to find them. But if another picture is there now, then they can’t find them because they aren’t there anymore.
So the reason that your programs can only find month old pictures is because these pictures were put on top of the older ones. Two things can’t occupy the same space so the old picture, or at least part of it, was permanently deleted. In this case, sorry.

As you found out the hard way, recovery of deleted files only work if they were recently deleted AND you had not saved new files onto the card after the fact.

That is….after deleting the file…it still has a chance for recovery. However, the more you start writing NEW files to the memory card, the chances that the new file will be written atop portions of the old file rise.

The moment new files begin writing over the space where your old files used to reside, it renders your old file irretrievable. =

So recapping….no…it is not possible to restore your deleted pictures from 6 months ago…especially since you have used that same memory card and effectively written over it.
